Srinagar, January 23 (KNO) : Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP) on Wednesday said that Republic Day of India may be a great day for Indian citizens but it has been a misery for the people of the disputed region. “In the garb of this day, men in uniform get an opportunity to put the people of Kashmir in hardships and by unfurling tricolor in the disputed region, New Delhi also tries to deceive its people and the international community,” JKDFP spokesman said in a statement issued to KNO. He said that so it is important for the people of Kashmir to observe 26 January as black day so as to show the world that the Indian democracy is only meant for the people except the citizens of Jammu Kashmir who are yet to decide their political future. “New Delhi is deceiving and trying to cheat the international community by enforcing republic day functions in the disputed region so it is of utmost importance for the people of Kashmir to remain aloof from these functions,” he added. The spokesperson while paying tributes to six militants killed by forces in Budgam and Shopian districts in two different gunfights, said that “the blood of all such martyrs also does not allow us to be part of the Indian functions like January 26.” He strongly condemned the use of force on unarmed civilians at Shirman Shopian by the men in uniform and added that “showering bullets and pellets on pro-freedom people only strengthens their political ideology that India is an occupier.” The spokesperson also condemned the attack on photojournalists and prayed for speedy recovery of those injured in government forces action at Shirmal, Shopian.(KNO)
